Art of Entertaining

On November 6, 2010, LA, Los Angeles Times Magazine presented an exclusive day of home entertaining ideas, tips from top experts, mixology and DJ demonstrations at the private hillside estate of the Home of the Avenues in Bel Air. Among those contributing with advice for the day included premiere party planner Yifat Oren, acclaimed floral designer Eric Buterbaugh, Lifestyle & Trend Expert Sally Horchow, celebrity caterer Lulu Powers and mixologist extraordinaire John Coltharp. Inside the home guests were able to interact in the Miele kitchen with chef Dakota Weiss from Hotel Shangri-La in Santa Monica and DJ Hem in the home theatre. Both offered simple demonstrations for entertaining at home including appetizers and ambiance.

The event was showcased in the stunning Home of the Avenues property which offered a breathtaking view of the San Fernando Valley and San Gabriel mountains. Guests indulged on delicious bites offered by Ruth’s Chris Steak House . A plethora of exhibitors were on hand creating an exquisite shopping boutique area which ranged from spices and home décor to jewelry and clothing.
